About Founder
Founder, Maia Arneson, graduated from the University of Arizona earning a Bachelors Degree with dual majors in Marketing & Business Management. ‘Even back in college I was especially intrigued by my Social Capital courses. I found it very interesting that a savvy networker could have significant value to a company even at an entry level position. As I approached graduation, I wondered how God would meld this interest in social capital with my Christian faith.'
In 2000, God led Arneson to Phoenix to start the Christian Resource Guide for Colorado-based Red Letter Publishing (www.RedLetter.com). Not knowing anyone in the Valley of the Sun, she found much success in networking to build her advertising clientele. In early 2003, after many calls from her contacts inquiring about Christian networking groups and with the support of Red Letter, Arneson launched Christian Business Networking.
Why does Arneson feel called to build CBN? 'It is a wonderful honor to connect Christian business owners not only in our local chapters but nation-wide through our site. My hope is that as a result of their involvement with CBN, members are excited about doing the Lord’s work in their field and feel energized knowing that He’s called and equipped them to be His light in their industry.'
Arneson grew up in Alaska & Seattle and moved to Arizona to run track at the University of Arizona. She and her husband Matt have one son and two daughters, one is in heaven. They attend Highlands Church in Scottsdale, AZ. Her passions for ministry are assisting the elderly and serving Board of Directors of the Christian Business Women’s Association.
